Members of the Board are elected for two-year terms. The Board meets periodically, in person at the annual FON meeting, and virtually several times during the year, as required. Click on the link to the left for information on current members of the Board. Members of the Board serve on a handful of standing and ad hoc committees, including Small Projects, Maternal Health, and planning for the annual meeting. The composition of our committees may be seen by clicking on the link to the left. The work of the board is conducted in reference to the Friends of Nigeria mission statement.
Since it was founded in 1996, Friends of Nigeria has sought to maintain ties with grass-roots organizations in Nigeria. As of the end of the 2020 fiscal year, FON had donated more than $300,000 to these organizations.
